Employee Wellbeing and Welfare – How to deal with the challenges of a modern workforce

Employee wellbeing is being pushed to the top of the agenda for businesses. This FREE Breakfast seminar will look at this topic from two perspectives; how to deal with the challenges and benefits of wellbeing in the workplace including remote working; and how to address sickness absences and mitigate risks from an employment law perspective.

The seminar takes place on Wednesday 13 September 2017, at Wilkin Chapman's Lincoln office and will be delivered by Oliver Tasker, Senior Solicitor and employment law specialist from Wilkin Chapman LLP, and Dr Deirdre Anderson, Director of Faculty in Lincoln International Business School.

Oliver Tasker will lead the seminar and will be looking at the challenges that businesses may face with sickness absence and how to effectively manage them from the outset. Oliver will be discussing:

  • How to actively address and manage sickness absences;
  • Tackling long term absences with confidence;
  • Safely dismissing an employee for capability and avoiding Tribunal claims.

Joining Oliver will be Dr Deirdre Anderson, Director of Faculty at the Lincoln International Business School.  She will be talking about the challenges and benefits of wellbeing, remote working and the work-home interface and will discuss:

  • What do we mean when we talk about wellbeing in the workplace?
  • Wellbeing and work-life balance: organisational or individual responsibilities?
  • Remote working and employee choice: challenges of ensuring the physical and psychological safety of all employees;
  • Facilitating and supporting wellbeing as working patterns continue to change and evolve.
