Amazing drone video captures Made In Hull, Siemens and new Venue being built

Hovering over Hull these are the amazing new scenes captured by drone.

Produced by aerial filming specialists Octovision, the new video features sites across Hull, ranging from homes and neighborhoods to new buildings being constructed.

And it shows some of the first aerial footage of the recent City of Culture events including Made in Hull, the opening fireworks display and the Blade.

The video, produced for the Hull Daily Mail Renewables Awards, is accompanied by music track Leaf by Leaf by emerging Hull band Pavey Ark.

The footage also features comments linked to the city's Renewables Industry including Siemens UK boss Juergen Maier and Prime Minister Theresa May.

The video was filmed over several weeks by Octovision boss Chris Fenton based at C4DI.

Here are where some of the scenes were shot.

Bransholme

Chris's footage shows Bransholme looking north across Padstow House flats and Bude Park Primary School toward Asda and Kingswood

New Hilton, Ferensway

This shows construction underway on the Ferensway in Hull city centre of the new Hilton DoubleTree. The £25m, 165-bed hotel is expected to open in November.

Hull Venue

The drone shows the land being cleared between Castle Street and Ferensway to make way for the new Hull Venue. The £39m live music and events complex is expected to open early in 2018.

We Are Hull

Amazing footage captured during the Made in Hull display in Queen Victoria Square where thousands watched a fantastic Made In Hull light display in January. An estimated 342,000 people saw the display which was also shared around the world on social media.

Old and new

This stunning scene shows Holy Trinity Church with the Deep and Hull Tidal Barrier in background. Shot over the city centre looking south east across the city, Chris says it is one of his favourite scenes.

Siemens shipment

This is the specially modified ship Sea Challenger operated by A2SEA leaving with the first shipment from Siemens new factory at Alexandria Dock in Green Port Hull. The turbine blades, the first made in Hull, are now generating electricity offshore.

Hull 2017 launch

Chris was working during the 2017 fireworks celebration on January 1. With his drone flying along the Humber as thousands watched from the shore, these scenes are some of the most amazing from the night.
