British Steel appoint on-site financial consultant

The Scunthorpe-based British Steel company has broken new ground by appointing an on-site financial consultant.

The 3,000 employees in town have been told the advice from Neil Grey will be free and impartial.

The steel trade unions have given their blessing to the appointment.

Meetings with Mr Grey who will be based in the conference centre will be by appointment.

Marin Foster, the site convenor for the Unite union, said: "People are faced with so many different financial choice these days.

"It's important everyone makes the choices most suited to them and their individual circumstances".
