A Scunthorpe butchers is celebrating a successful first year, increasing staff numbers five-fold!
Taylor's Family Butchers opened 12 months ago on Ashby High Street and owner Ash Taylor has said the shop's success has far exceeded his expectations.
He said: "Business has been very good, we have gone from strength to strength.
"We have gone from three members of staff to 15 and that is a reflection of how well the business is doing.
"We've also had good comments and feedback on Facebook.
"We opened in Ashby because it is an up and coming area and the High Street has unique shops.
"It has parking and I know a lot of people on this side of town."
Mr Taylor added that he has grown to love butchery through starting at the very bottom of the ladder.
"I started off as a pot washer when I was about 13 and I worked my way up to be a manager at David Jenkins and I was running the job when this shop became available.
"I had already done a meat management course and I really wanted to have a go on my own.
"It has well and truly exceeded my expectations - there are queues outside on the path. It makes me really proud.
"We have really good staff, they are the most important part of the business.
"I enjoy seeing the different customers and cultures coming through the shop and talking about different cuts of meat."
