Could Michelle Dewberry about to throw her hat into the political ring by trying to become an MP in Hull?

The former Apprentice winner prompted speculation after taking to Twitter after the decision by Alan Johnson to step down a s MP for Hull West and Hessle.

She tweeted: "Now that we've lost our MP #AlanJohnson maybe I should stand & represent the area that I love - Hull West (or West Hull as it to us!)"

However, the Hull-born broadcaster, who is a regular commentator on Sky News, is unlikely to join the Labour selection race.

In another tweet, she said: "I was raised on Labour but they are letting people down as they are and I believe it a real shame."

Commenting on an interview featuring Labour's Diane Abbott, she added: "I like some people in party but it's become a joke.

"It's letting down its working class."

But she did have some kind words for Mr Johnson.

"Very sad to see our MP #AlanJohnson go. I have a lot of respect for him. He would have been a good leader. #election," she tweeted.
