Fashion store Peacocks is to open a new store in Grimsby next month

By Grimsby Telegraph | Posted: 12 Oct 2017

Fashion retailer Peacocks has confirmed plans to open a third branch in the area.

The popular high street chain has a store on St Peter’s Avenue in Cleethorpes and one on Eastgate in Louth. The chain owned by the Edinburgh Woollen Mill Group employs over 6,000 people and there are currently 388 Peacocks stores in the UK and more than 200 in 12 overseas countries.

The new store is set to open on Thursday, November 9 in the former Brantano store on the Victoria Retail Park in Grimsby. A poster in the window of the former shoe shop, which closed its doors earlier this year, revealed the exciting news.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Peacocks released a short statement: “I can confirm that the Grimsby branch of Peacocks will open on November 9, 2017.”

It is not yet know how many job vacancies this new store will create but there is a vacancy available for their Cleethorpes branch, posted via TotalJobs, just two days ago. The advert says “there is an opportunity for a store manager to join the team and manage the day to day running of the shop.”

They are looking for “a well rounded and commercial ‘retail manager’ who is proactive in their approach and can work using their own initiative. Fashion experience desirable however not essential as full training is provided” for the full time role. “The ideal candidate will have previous experience either in management or supervision of personnel within a retail outlet.”
