Financial services firm expands with new Beverley headquarters

A family-run financial services firm has opened a new Beverley headquarters in an attempt to address a lack of face-to-face banking on the high street.

Ashley Phillips Ltd, who offer people advice for mortgages, life insurance, pensions and retirement planning as well as other services, has opened new offices in Saturday Market.

The last twelve months has seen numerous banks closing high street branches, including HSBC in Cottingham and Whitefriargate, and the finance advisors say this is something they were keen to address.

Phil Trevarrow, director of Ashley Phillips Ltd, said there is a “great need” for face-to-face financial advice following the falling numbers of banks with a presence on the high street.

“Most of the banks have reduced the numbers of branch based advisers,” he said.

“There is a great need, and demand, for face-to-face financial advice for the general public, so being based close to where the general public used to go for advice made sense.

“Beverley was a place where we always intended to trade from, but getting the right property was key.”

The firm has worked with clients across Hull, Beverley and Hornsea over the last twenty years, but decided a new high street outlet was needed.

The firm has decided to open the new base in Beverley, saying that it was a logical place to open in order to cater for clients across the county.

Mr Trevarrow said: “We have clients all around the Yorkshire region and, not only is Beverley a central point for this, and is the most local town to where we have been based, is a lovely market town and will be a privilege to work here.

“We are taking over the Grays & Co office, who are simply moving their operations upstairs.

“Beverley has an excellent reputation as being a traditional, safe, friendly, prospective town, which precisely match our own business values.

“It is because of this why we believe Ashley Phillips Ltd will provide a valuable service to the high street.”

Ashley Phillips Ltd is an appointed representative of Intrinsic Financial Planning Limited and Intrinsic Mortgage Planning Limited, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
