First look inside the newly refurbished Trawlerman

The Trawlerman is set to re-open today following a £300,000 refurbishment.

The popular pub and eatery on North Sea Lane has been closed since January 15, as it underwent a huge refurbishment that has created upwards of 17 new jobs.

Known for its carveries, the pub has based its entire menu for the last ten years around the meal that it is proud to cook so well. But now it is offering a brand new menu serving up a whole host of pub classics, with burgers, wraps, half chickens and for the first time in ten years, chips.

The Trawlerman pub has recently gone through a refurbishment, ready for the re-opening.

Along with the new additions to the menu, which will include a Yorkshire pudding Sunday dinner wrap, it will also offer unlimited ice cream from its brand new machine.

The pub will be holding its grand opening today at 11am, where it will have a new offer, the family banquet, where a family of four can get two large carveries and two small ones, plus a sharer dessert for £20.

Manager Adam Marsh said that the last few weeks have been just "manic" as he and his staff learn the new menu and get ready for the grand opening.

He said: "We had been scheduled to have a refurbishment for a while now, but it had been knocked back three times because the pub was doing so well as it was.

"But we have finally got there in the end and we are hoping that our loyal customers will be thrilled with the work that has been done.

"The carvery will probably still be our main focus, but we have a brand new menu available that we are sure will prove to be very popular, and we are now serving chips for the first time in ten years.

"The whole development has cost just over £300,000 and created 16 to 17 new jobs, with the possibility of more being made available depending on how everything goes.

"We are now offering Yorkshire pudding wraps, burgers, chicken and have a huge selection on the children's menu which I am sure will go down well.

"I would just like to invite everyone to come along and join us on Monday and over the next few weeks."
