Grimsby businessman's raffle plan for Jaguar that featured on Top Gear

A Grimsby businessman is looking for suggestions as to what to do with a car he has acquired that once featured on hit BBC show Top Gear.

Dave Pickerden, managing director of Tyres & Auto Centre, Eleanor Street, has come into possession of a X-Type Jaguar that once starred alongside Jeremy Clarkson on an episode of Top Gear in 2003, and is now asking his loyal customers whether or not he should raffle the car off for charity.

Mr Pickerden had considered holding a raffle for all of his "loyal customers" and entering each one of them into it for free for visiting his store, but now after reviewing the interest the car might get, he is now thinking about holding an open raffle and is asking people to let his staff know exactly what good cause they should help to raise money for.

The purple jaguar was one of Jeremy Clarkson's Top 5 cars in 2003, when he used it to demonstrate how well the car can cope during Britain's winter weather, even using the car to tow him as he skied along snow covered and icy roads.

A clip of the Top Gear segment featuring the car has been viewed almost one and half million times on YouTube.

Mr Pickerden said: "Ever since we got the car we have been debating in the store what we should do with it, thinking that we should raffle it off to one of our loyal customers in a free raffle, but now we are thinking we should use it to do something good in the community and raise some money for charity.

"The car is a 2003 Jaguar that has had a full service here in our store, receiving a full MoT, having its wheels powder coated and engine re-mapped."

Tyres & Auto Centre on Eleanor Street have a wide arrange of services available for car owners in Grimsby, offering a full range of vehicle services that start from just £49.
