A new housing development in Anlaby by a leading regional house-builder will bring in over £13m to the region’s economy, it has been announced.
Barratt Homes' recently launched the ‘Aspect’ development in Anlaby which has seen the development of 77 homes.
The company says the development is “great news” for the area, creating jobs in construction, as they work to meet expanding demand in East Yorkshire.
The development is still in the construction stage, with the first occupants expected to move in by spring 2018.
The site is one of ten new developments planned this year by Barratt Developments Yorkshire East, which includes both the Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands.
The new sites in East Yorkshire have created 850 new homes in the region. The developers say they have also created 880 jobs in the region, as well as 70 apprenticeships.
Barratt Homes says it has seen demand for new homes in the region expand rapidly and it believes the development is positive news for the area’s economy.
Sharon Hyde, sales manager at Aspect, said: “We’ve seen demand for new homes expand very quickly over the year and our new development near Hull will provide more choice for local buyers.
“It’s also great news for the local economy – in addition to the local construction jobs underpinned by building the new homes, people who move into the new housing will benefit from Section 106 contributions made by Barratt to the local area.
“We’re excited to see the new development taking shape over the coming months, and can’t wait to explore further ways in which we can get involved with the local community.”
Over 38 per cent of the houses built on the Aspect site have been sold, with prospective homeowners snapping up the new build properties in the village.
Confidence in the housing market dropped to a five year low nationally, but sales in the region remain strong.
The new development consists of a variety of two, three and four bedroom properties in the ‘highly desirable’ village, with amenities close by.
The company says the development, situated off Lowfield Road, is ideal for growing families or professionals looking to move.
Barratt Homes have completed a number of other successful developments in the region including Fallows Park in Beverley.
Three and four bedroom homes at the Aspect development are available from £223,995.
