A new Lidl supermarket is opening its doors to shoppers next week in west Hull.

The new Lidl in Brighton Street, which is replacing its existing store off Hessle Road, will be opened to customers at 8am on February 15 with a host of deals on offer.

There will be an official ribbon-cutting at the store, and customers will be offered the chance to sample some products throughout the day.

Throughout the week there will be offers on products including saving £20 on a fan heater, saving more than £10 on a new baby chair and saving £40 on a food processor and blender.

The 1424m² store has facilities including a bakery, customer toilets, baby changing, and parking facilities for cars and bicycles. A number of jobs have been created in the new store.

The new supermarket forms part of the company’s ongoing expansion and regeneration plans in the UK which will see it open up to 60 new stores a year.

Lidl UK’s regional head of property, Graham Burr, said: “We would like to thank all those who have played a part in improving our Lidl store in Hull.

“It is great for us to be able to create more jobs and investment opportunities in the area, and we can’t wait to start serving our multi-award winning products to the local community once again.”

The firm has seen growth, as people move to greater value supermarkets, with latest results showing a year on year sales growth of 16.8 per cent.
