A Hull plumber has been recognised as a Master Plumber at a glamorous ceremony following over 30 years working in the industry.

John Hamilton Murray, a subject matter engineer (water) at Sodexo Facilities, was awarded the title of Master Plumber by the Lord Mayor of London, Alderman Charles Bowman, at a  ceremony at  Glaziers’ Hall, London, on Monday, February 26.

The title of Master Plumber is awarded to those who have attained a level of excellence in their chosen profession that may rightly be described as mastery of the art, craft, science and practice of plumbing.

Mr Hamilton Murray, of Hull, said: “It’s a great honour. I will continue to uphold the high standards expected of me, in both mentoring those committed to a plumbing career and as a holder of the Master Certificate.

“I loved the awards ceremony and gained a massive amount from it – long may it continue to grow.”
