New managing director appointed at Novartis

By Grimsby Telegraph | Posted: 31 Oct 2016

A NEW managing director has been appointed at Grimsby's Novartis plant.

Cynthia Chiaramitara will take over the Moody Lane pharmaceutical giant on January 1, after current head, Anne Wirtz, was given a new role within the Swiss company's Basel head office.

Cynthia joined Novartis in 2004, and has extensive experience in both chemical operations and the production environment. She has held roles as process manager and process unit head in Brazuil, before moving to Basel to become global human relations head, first for chemical operations and then the Aseptics platform.

Prior to joining Novartis, which last month held a dual celebration to mark 20 years of the company and 65 years production on the South Humber Bank, she worked in different roles in various multi-national organisations.

She holds a masters degree in chemical engineering and an executive MBA.

Anne, a Belgian national, came to Grimsby in March 2014.
