A national retailer is set to officially launch a new branch in Brigg tomorrow.

Screwfix, which specialises in trade tools, accessories and hardware products, will officially open its first store in the town on Atherton Way.

The branch has created nine new jobs in the area.

Screwfix's new Brigg store manager, Helen Sanderson, said: "We've created nine new jobs and employed people from the Brigg area.

"Our new team includes people with all different levels of experience, focused on providing superb customer service to meet the needs of our busy trade customers.

"Everyone here is really looking forward to the store opening."

Tradespeople and DIYers are all invited to attend the opening and can demonstrate their professional skills in a free-to-enter competition. The winner will receive a 40-inch smart TV.

A launch celebration period will be in operation at the store until Sunday, with Screwfix offering a 10 per cent discount on all product ranges, as well as other store-specific special offers.

In addition, there will also be a chance to see demonstrations of the latest powers tools from Dewalt, who will have representatives at the store on Friday.

Helen said: "I’m confident we’ve got a great location here in Brigg. My team and I have already been getting to know local businesses and tradespeople and look forward to working with these hardworking, friendly people."

The branch will be open 7am to 8pm Monday to Friday, 7am to 6pm on Saturdays and 9am to 4pm on Sundays.
