Post Office set to move back onto Scunthorpe High Street

After a four-year hiatus the post office is moving back into Scunthorpe High Street.

Following public consultation the Post Office today (May 12) confirmed the new branch would be based at 148 High Street, the former premises of Ramsden Financial Services

No date has yet been set for the opening, but the trading hours will from 9am until 5.30pm Monday to Saturday.

Ramsdens, Scunthorpe High Street, where the new Post Office is earmarked for.

As yet the franchise operator has not been identified.

And it remains unclear whether the present six female employees in the branch based at Fulton's convenience store in The Parishes will be offered jobs.

A Post Office spokesman said: "Staffing would be a matter for the operator –not ourselves".

The Scunthorpe post office which dates back to 1905 traded in the High Street from 2008 until 2013 when it was up-rooted again to the Parishes.
