Poundworld to go into administration with regional stores at risk

By Hull Daily Mail | Posted: 11 Jun 2018

Poundworld is expected to go into administration today.

Nationally, 5,100 jobs are at risk after last-ditch sales talks broke down. The chain has seven shops in the Humber region.

The stores in Hull's Whitefriargate, King Edward Street and North Point Shopping Centre, Grimsby's Freshney Place,  Scunthorpe's Foundry Shopping Centre and Skippingdale Retail Park, could all be at risk of closure, as could the Goole store in Aire Street.

Monday's news comes just days after the announcement that Hull and Grimsby's House of Fraser stores are up for closure after the department store announced plans to cut more than half of their shops.
