SCUNTHORPE-based Britcon has renewed its sponsorship of a successful triathlon racing team.
The building and civil engineering firm has announced its commitment to a second year of backing the Britcon Triathlon Race Team.
The team includes North Lincolnshire-based athletes such as Steve Clark, who was middle-distance triathlon European champion in 2015.
World Ironman competitor Steve Grocock, three-time British age-group winner Jordan Skelly, Great Britian triathlon squad member Amy Grocock and Keyo Brigg Sprint Triathlon 2016 winner Nick Martin are also part of the squad.
Britcon's sponsorship of the team provides financial support, race expenses and training and race kits.
Shaun Hunt, chief executive at the company, said: "We are delighted to continue our support to these high achieving athletes into the 2017 season.
"With many of the races being televised it is always great for the people of Lincolnshire to be able to watch our local amateur sporting heroes compete in some of the most gruelling and prestigious sporting events in the world.
"The sponsorship also allows employees at Britcon to benefit from one to one session's with the athletes for training, fitness classes, nutrition seminars and general health and well-being advice.
"We'd like to wish the whole team all the best for the 2017 season. We very much look forward to working with them, continuing to build strong relationships and helping the team to achieve their goals."
The team are now set to push for more world-level honours this year in races including Triathlon X.
This is thought to be the toughest ultra-distance triathlon in the world and covers more than 17,000ft of ascent over 140 miles of Lake District mountains.
Other upcoming challenges include the London Triathlon, the Rotterdam ITU World Sprint Tri Championships and the Vitruvian National Distance Championships.
Steve Clark said: "We are extremely pleased that Britcon has once again committed to continue its support to our team.
"With its backing we are now looking to take the team to the next level for the 2017 season and beyond.
"We have previously amassed a number of top accolades in a very short space of time and with the tremendous support we receive from Britcon, we can only continue to go from strength to strength."
