A Scunthorpe-based butcher is planning further expansion after receiving a funding grant to help manage increasing demand and build the hospitality arm of the business.
Taylor's Family Butchers, which opened in August last year on Ashby High Street, has secured £1,000 from the UK Steel Enterprise organisation.
It comes after the business increased its staff from three employees to 15 to manage growing demand for its locally-sourced meats, which are supplied to the public, pubs and restaurants.
The cash has been used to buy a vacuum packer machine, which owner Ashley Taylor said was "essential to breaking the hospitality market and building a strong restaurant and hotel-based clientele".
And Mr Taylor also revealed he is planning to open another shop, as well as launching an online store.
He said: "It’s quite incredible how much of a success Taylor’s Family Butchers is becoming, we've received an overwhelming response from the local community in the last year, with queues often out of the door on Saturdays.
"The funding has been vital to our establishment, and has allowed us to expand our customer reach as we now have many restaurant, pub and hotel clients.
"Due to our initial success we are planning to open another butchers shop in the local area, alongside an online shop, too. I cannot thank UK Steel Enterprise enough for the funding they have supplied us with.”
UK Steel Enterprise launched its Kickstart Fund in partnership with North Lincolnshire Council and the Growth Hub in February 2016, with the aim of supporting people looking to establish a business in the area. It provides grants of up to £1,000.
Allan Wood, of UK Steel Enterprise, said: "Taylor's Family Butchers is a great addition to Scunthorpe and it's brilliant to hear about its popularity amongst the local community as well as business owners.
"Within its first year of trading, the butchers shop has created 15 job opportunities in the local area, and with its growing customer base, we are looking forward to seeing how it plans to move forward."
UK Steel Enterprise is a subsidiary of Tata Steel and provides equity and loan finance to growing companies.
