A new-look Co-op store will open in Scunthorpe tomorrow following a £240,000 refurbishment programme.

The investment by the Lincolnshire Co-operative has also seen three new jobs created at the Willoughby Road branch, on the Riddings estate.

Co-op bosses have promised shoppers that the store, which has been closed for five days, has undergone a complete refit including a new floor and fresh fixtures and fittings.

New features include an in-store bakery, a Costa Coffee express and in the near future, the sale of roll-over hot dogs.

The range of meat and fresh fruit and vegetables has also been extended.

The refurbishment comes after staff at the Willoughby Road branch scooped an award for outstanding customer service at the Lincolnshire Co-operative's Celebrating Success evening earlier this year.

That accolade came after the team smashed targets for overall customer satisfaction ratings by 15 per cent

The newly-improved store is set to open its doors to customers at 7am today.
