Signs have gone up at Scunthorpe's new Starbucks branch, which is due to open next week.

The international coffee chain is taking over the former Perfect Home unit in the Foundry shopping centre, in the town centre.

It will open at 9am on Thursday, June 14 and has created 10 jobs.

Work has been ongoing to fit out the unit ahead of the opening and as the countdown gathers pace, the signage on the front of the building has now been put into place.

The new branch will be officially opened by the mayor of North Lincolnshire Councillor John Briggs and mayoress Joanne Brown.

Customers will be given an opportunity to sample Starbucks' new summer menu with a variety of coffee and food tastings on the first day, including new Teavana shaken infused iced teas and vegan chocolate and raspberry cake.

When the opening date was announced, Foundry centre manager Stephen Dacombe said: "We're delighted to be welcoming Starbucks to The Foundry, providing a space for local shoppers to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee.

"The team can’t wait to see what our customers think of the new store."

And Kavita, director at Starbucks franchisee KBeverage, said: "We are really excited to be opening our store at The Foundry, and welcoming in local shoppers to try our new summer food menu."
