SNAP! Question Time for Business is back!
By The Business Hive | Posted: 10 May 2017
The election has been announced and courtesy of the Business Hive, local business people and entrepreneurs will once again get the opportunity to grill some of the Parliamentary candidates for this area.
In 2015 The Business Hive hosted the very first Question Time for Business and it received national coverage. This year, on Monday May 15th, we will be doing it again. Candidates from the five main parties will once again face an invited audience of more than 200 business people, answer their questions and convince them they are the party for local businesses and entrepreneurs, who between them employ over 90% of working adults in North East Lincolnshire.
Sam Burgess, Manager of the Business Hive, said. ‘This will be a very exciting event, there is so much that has happened since the last election but the local business community have continued to invest their lives and their fortune in the future of North East Lincolnshire. They still account for a considerable amount of employment and have aspirations to create even more in the years to come. Unsurprisingly, they want to know what our local candidates will be doing to help them grow the local economy and create stronger communities.’
The Panel will be made up of the following candidates.
Martin Vickers (Conservative)
Melanie Onn (Labour)
Steve Beasant (Liberal)
Loyd Emmerson (Green Party)
Mike Hookem (UKIP)
It will be run in a similar fashion to BBC Question Time, with Mark Webb chairing proceedings, ensuring questions are answered and that the audience have opportunity to put their points over too.
Mark said ‘The enthusiasm that each of the candidates has shown for this event is outstanding, it really demonstrates their commitment to engaging with their voters and responding to any questions they may have. I am determined that each candidate will be given an equal opportunity to give their answers and that the questions that are asked are answered directly and in full.’
The event will be held at the Parkway Cinema on Monday 15th May with a brief wine and nibbles reception at 5.30pm where guests can meet business colleagues and network beforehand. The candidates will take to the stage at around 6.15pm
The event will be open to entrepreneurs and all local businesses and their employees. Spaces are limited however, so snap yours up and reserve your seats now by clicking here or call 01472 242667.
