Swift Group has once again been listed in the Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 in recognition of its burgeoning overseas sales.

The Cottingham-based leisure vehicle manufacturer is this year the only East Yorkshire firm to appear on the list, which acts as a barometer of Britain's mid-market private companies, with the ranking based on fastest-growing international sales.

Managing director James Turner said: "Swift has enjoyed a fantastic year, delivering record retail sales and winning multiple awards including Manufacturer of the Year in Yorkshire.

"I am delighted that for the third year running our international sales development, primarily in Europe and Asia Pacific, has also been recognised and especially proud that Swift is a torch bearer in the East Yorkshire region."

The Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200 ranks Britain's mid-market private companies with the fastest-growing international sales, measured over their latest two years of available accounts.

It is compiled by Fast Track and published in The Sunday Times each June, with an awards event in September.

International sales growth of 19.6 per cent over the past two years gave Swift a ranking of 183rd on the league table, which was published yesterday, with international sales reaching almost £18m over the same period.

"The significant investments the company continues to make in people and infrastructure will help us fuel UK and international growth further," said Mr Turner.

Swift was founded in 1964 and has grown to become Europe's leading manufacturer of leisure vehicles, with a portfolio encompassing touring caravans, motorhomes and holiday homes.

The company now employs more than 1,000 people and has production facilities in Cottingham as well as Mexborough.

Works to add a new £8m state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at its Dunswell Road headquarters were recently completed following nine months of development.

The development, which was project-managed by Hull companies Alan Wood Partnership and Houlton, will house the production of holiday homes and lodges.
