The York 100 Cycling Race

By IT@Spectrum | Posted: 29 Aug 2017

We would like to say a huge well done to our Support, Logistics & Quality Specialist Stephanie Hickingbotham, who has recently completed the York 100 cycling race.

The event was organised by Action For Children who focus on saving and changing children’s lives through medical research. Steph and her cycling partner entered the classic route on Sunday 20th August and rode an impressive 68 miles through North Yorkshire.

Steph completed the race with a significant calf injury, however her and her cycling partner came an impressive 146/7th in the race and 16/7th out of the 60 female cyclists that took part giving them a ride time of 4:42:26.

"It was a fantastic event, we smashed it, 68 miles up hill and down dale!"

Steph will be competing in the race again next year hoping to improve on this year’s results. Without the calf injury she is hoping to come first place!

As an avid cyclist Steph also has the following races coming up this September, we look forward to seeing how she does!

3rd Sept – Selby Three Swan Sportive

16th Sept – Colour Run at Driffield for Dove house

30th September – Aye up Yorkshire Sportive
