A popular east Hull nightclub undergoing a major redevelopment will host a world-renowned event when it opens next month.
Bongo Bongo, in Witham, is currently undergoing a big transformation - with it set to reopen as The Old School House next month.
And its owners have said they have secured BBC 1XTRA to play its opening night after being first approached by the station to host their public set last May.
Now, with the Old School House official opening on Friday, September 29, the venue have confirmed will be playing host to the 1XTRA crew for the special event.
Owner of The Old School House, Mike Thompson, said he was excited for revellers to see the new-look club.
“We’re currently redeveloping, we’re going from Bongo Bongo to The Old School House and are redecorating everything," he said.
"We used to have leopard print walls but we’re going for a school theme. Clubbers can dance in the science lab or stay in detention which is the VIP area.”
Former stars to perform at BBC 1XTRA events include Craig David and Sean Paul. The event on September 29 will be streamed live on 1XTRA and will also be televised on BBC2 the day after.

Built in 1882, the building was classed as a dangerous building until Mike and his partner Lauren took over.
Mike, who has been in the club industry for 40 years, is excited for the reopening of one of the city’s hottest venues.
He said: “Obviously the students will be coming back soon which is great. I’m excited about the redecorating and of course BBC 1Xtra coming down.”
Mike continued: “I’m that excited if I had two tails they’d both wag!”
