Work for small and large suppliers with contracts worth up to £10m

AN EVENT is set to be held for firms hoping to win major construction and highways contracts with North Lincolnshire Council.

The authority will run a supplier event day at the Learning Development Centre on Enderby Road, Scunthorpe, on Thursday, March 22.

It comes as the council begins the process of procuring the next generation construction and highways framework.

Council leader Rob Waltham said it presented a “fantastic opportunity” for local employers.

He said: “We are wanting to work with small and large suppliers with contracts ranging from £1 to £10 million.

“The framework is over a four-year period and may be extended by another two years.

“Our aim is to continue to build long term partnerships with key contractors who will help deliver first class public services to the people of North Lincolnshire.

“The contracts will boost economic growth by providing and securing jobs in our community and further improving skills.

“I’d encourage those interested to find out more details at the supplier day.

“The framework will support our objective to be the best place to live and best council.”

The framework aims to deliver efficiencies, improve value for money and provide added social value through the employment and training opportunities.

It will include individual lots for general building and highways.

Procurement will be a single stage process with bidders completing the publicly available specification (PAS 91), with supplementary method statements and pricing information.

The council will be using Constructionline, the Government-approved third-party accreditation and risk management service to assist in the pre-qualification and future monitoring processes.

The provisional award date for the framework is October, followed by a mobilisation period of two months and with a go-live date of January 2019.

All documentation will be issued electronically, with an anticipated release date of May.

The supplier event will incorporate two sessions at 10am and 2pm and those interested are asked to book their place.
